We have a churn at home it is three years made.
We churn about three times a week in summer and once a week in winter.
Anyone that comes into the ouse while the milk is being churned churns for a while because if they did not it is said that they would bring the butter away with them.
Some people put a coal under the churn for fear the fairies would come in and bring the butter away [with] them. They put May Pole on the churn too for fear the milk would be take. The churn is worked by the(continues on next page)
