   How Battle - Bridge near Leitrim got its Name In by gone days, there lived a small farmer about a mile and a half from Battle - Bridge. In this man's land there was a fairy rath. This man and his father were very particular about the fort, so much so, that they would not even cut a bush in it. One day in the reaping season the farmer had to go to Boyle and in his absence his cows were taken to the pound for rent and rates.
