   Convenient to the village of Newtown Gore in the county of Leitrim, lived a woman, her name was Margaret Mullany, and for years she had never entered a church. She had a son John, and he was no more a religious enthusiast than herself. The minister spoke her one Sunday and said if she would not soon come out he would pay her a visit. One day he started off for Margaret's cottage, and as he stepped in, "Good day Margaret" said the Minister "Good day y'er Riverence" said Margaret, as he sat down, and they began to talk about the weather and other little topics.
