  1. Travelling Folk
Many times during the year travelling folk visit this district. The families that are seen very often are the O'Briens and the Mc Carthys. They dwell in caravans on the road side and beside the ditches. Some of them have horses for removing the caravans from place to place. A pair of them visit this district very often - Big Bob and his wife Maney Falconer. They are always said to be very cheerful and gay. Some of the travelling people make flowers, small tables, saucepans, and other things. When a play or coursing match is held they come from other places to it. They usually have big families and the travel from house to house procuring food for their children.
