  1. There is a lime-kiln near our house. One day a man was working for a farmer near by. They told him to stay with them for the night, but he would not. As he was passing the kiln on his way home, he saw a lovely table on the road outside the kiln. There were gold dishes on it, in which were meat, and wine and all sorts of luxuries. He ran back as fast as his legs could carry him, until he reached the house. He fainted and took to his bed and he did not recover for two years.
