  1. There is a long road leading to lower Kilbrean near our townland. It is called the wood road. There is a wood on both sides of it. One night a man named John Carty was coming from rambling. He had to pass by that wood. As he was going along he saw a shadow walking by his side. He thought it looked like the shadow of a person dressed in black. It walked with him until he reached his home. When his wife saw it she sprinkled holy water on it and it disappeared.
