- In days gone by there used to be a corn mill at Carrick near Churchhill. It belonged to William Tease. As each farmer took his corn to him he put it on a kiln with a turf fire below and dried each man's corn seperately. He then took off his boots and turned this amount of corn. It was usually at night they dried it. He then put it into the mill and ground it.
