   windows and over the doors in the cabins for fear fairies would take the milk.
   If the people are churning on May day they put three coals under the churn. They tie May Pole to the cows tail because if she had milk the fairies would take it.
   Some people tie a red rag to the horses tail and if she is a white horse they leave her in the barn all day because the fairies are fond of white horses.
   The old people say that on the first morning of May that if you wash your face with the dew of the grass it is said you will not get sun burned in the Summer.
