- Kilbarry, a town land of beautiful evergreen groves and rich emerald pastures in the Parish of Dun-manway possesses an ancient cemetery shaded with ash, sycamore, holly and spruce. In the cemetery may be seen at present the ivied ruins of a church erected by Saint Finbarr patron-of Cork diocese, from whom the townland has derived its name.
In a field adjoining the (river) cemetery is a sacred well at which many miracles are wrought on afflicted persons brought thither. A tributary of the Bandon flows peacefully past between banks well coated with alders.
