    Knowles of Oatlands and the huntsmen were out on a day's hunt with their hounds they were often led miles over the country chasing the hare. But the quarry always escaped to their great disappointment not with-standing all their endeavours. They could not understand how this happened for the country is very level all round with scarcely any covers.
    At last one day after about 2 hour's run a hound succeeded in catching the hare by the leg at the door of Joan's cabin. The hare squealed like a human being but released itself again and ran into the cabin under neath the door. A witness standing near-by told where the hare ran. The huntsmen came to the door but the door was locked and they could not get in. All the men put their backs against the door and burst it in. When it
