Flax was a crop that was very much grown round here in olden times. The flax was pulled and scutched and then buried in the bog for some time to make it tough. Then it was taken home and dried on a kiln. After that it was hackled and spun with a spinning wheel into yarn and then it was woven into linen. Rope-making
