  1. Those are the names of all the roads I know in our district, The Mullingar road, the Edgeworthstown road, the Listubbet road, the Toome road, the New-Castle road, the Long Avenue, and the Athlone road.
The Long Avenue was made about 60 years ago. The people are mending the Athlone road at present. In the bad times people used to get work making those roads. The people used to get 4 shillings a week making those roads in the years 1846 and 1847.
