- Local fairs are held in the town of Nenagh. They are always held in the town. Long ago if a buyer heard of farmers having good cattle he would come to the neighbourhood and buy them. This was much cheaper as the farmers had not to go to town. It is not carried on now.Last year it was decided to hold the Nenagh fair on the first Monday of each month. When the farmers sell their cattle and receive the money from the purchasers they give back a few shillings to the buyer and it is known as "luck money." It is counted very mean and unlucky not to give(continues on next page)
