- There are about fourteen tailors in the district, they all work in their own homes or in some rooms they rent, they do not travel from house to house as they used to do many years ago. Few of them stock the cloth but they all keep a range of patterns from which the customers may select. There is a weaving factory about three miles from the town but people do not weave or opin in their homes as they used years ago. The commonly used cloths are tweed and serge. The tailor is one of the few tradesmen who sits on the floor and crosses his legs while he is working. His implements are:- a machine, an iron, an ironing board(continues on next page)
