To see a rainbow in the sky
(A rainbow in the morning is a shepherds warning
A rainbow in the night is a shepherds delight)
The walls are damp the ditches smell
Close to the pink eyed pimpernell
Hark how the chair and tables crack
Old Betty's joints are on the wrack
Loud quack the ducks the peecocks cry
The distant hills are looking nigh
How restless are the snorting wind
The busy flies disturb the kine
Puss on the hearth with velvet paws
Sits wiping o'er her bitter jaws
The soot falls down and spainels sleep
And spiders from their cobwebs creep
