    more they are taught how to swin and fly. After a week or so they leave the nest.
    The swallow's nest is made of motar - of what they pick off the roads and also sticks and straw. They lay five or six green speckled eggs. After they come out they are hatched for a week or so and after that the mother bird teaches them how to fly, and very soon they are gone.
    If the cuckoo comes late that is a sign that we will have a late Summer and if he comes early the Summer is earlier than usual.
    If the wild birds come inland that is a sign that we will have a bad Winter.
