- We keep the following animals on our farm - cows, calfs, and a donkey. When driving the cows to the field or from the field the people say "Haurch". The barn into which the cows are put is called the Cow house. The cows are tied round the neck at night with a chain which is fastened to a stick. It the cows are cross during the day they are tied with a sidelang. Some people say that it is lucky to have a horse shoe left in the cow-house.
Long ago women used to go to fairs and if they saw a good cow they would take away her goodness(continues on next page)- Collector
