  1. There is a holy well in Terlicken which is about 2 miles from Ballymahon. There is a tree growing over the well and there are rocks all round it. It is called St. Patrick's well.
    The people say that St. Patrick blessed this well, and that he left the track of his foot beside it. The people go on a pilgrimage there on St. Patrick's Day. They believe that there is a cure in the water. They say prayers there, and they leave a medal there.
