Marble hill, Swillybrin, Derryart, Cloonmass, Cartnamaddy, Faugher, Ballymore, Port-na-Blagh. Marble hill so called because marble was found in it. Port-na-Blagh means the port for the butter-milk. Cart-na-maddy means the dogs quarter. Parkmore - means the big field.
These are a list of the townlands near the town of Dunfanaghy.
Dunfanaghy got its name as the fort of the stranger, because one time a man came to Dunfanaghy with a little dog with a strap round his neck and Dunfanaghy was written on the strap, that is how it got its name.(continues on next page)
