    I am a bold undaunted youth
    Pat Jordan is my name
    From the Chapel of Coolcarney one Sunday as I strayed
    In passing by who did I spy but the yeomen on parade
    Said one unto the other
    There goes Jordan from Coolcarney that commands the Fenian blade
    Quickly they surrounded me and ordered me to stand
    I did no know the reason why they had me at command
    They marched me on to Ballina
    It was on a market day
    And cruel was the usage they gave me on the way
    They marched me on to Castlebar upon that very day
    With ribbons flying purple and an orange cockade
    And everything else equal against our Fenian blade
