    On St Brigid's eve they made crosses of straw and put it up in the house in honour of St Brigid.
    In honour of St Martin killed sheep and other animals.
    In honour of Sts Peter and Paul they gave a few pence.
    In honour of St Patrick they wore the shamrock.
