  1. There are a lot of old roads in my district that were made the time of the famine.
There is a little road about a mile from my house and it is supposed that it was made the time of the famine. The people call it "Bóthar an tSídeógín Bháin".
It got this name long ago because a man was crossing a field coming home and as he was crossing this drain he saw a white bird down in it. Then he was knocked three times and he did not see anyone and then he heard some one saying Sídeógín Bhán and ever since that it is called Bóthar an tSídeógín Bháin.
