  1. There was a man living in Cloonbar, Kilconly, Tuam. He used to milk his cows every morning and evening. One summers evening when he went out to milk his cows he saw a hare milking one of them. When he came near her the hare went away. He followed the hare and she went down in a drain. When he came near the drain he saw a small woman in it.
    He milked his cow every day except that day of each year. He believed that if he milked her on that day or any other cow he would have that she would be dead before morning. He lived in the house by himself and it used to be one of the neighbours that would milk the cow for him on that day of each year.
