    In Aughavas there is a stone with a well in it, at which St. Patrick knelt...

    A true story related to me by Mrs Tiernan who is still living in Mohill. (Since deceased F. Flynn 10/1/39)
    In Aughavas there is a stone with a well in it, at which St. Patrick knelt. In olden times there were many cures at this well, but it has been long forgotten. In the Summer of 1921 when water was very scarce, that old lady had a number of men making hay. The only water she could get to boil (cabbage)
