  1. The following story was told to me by my Father.
    He told me that outside Carraig Castle there is supposed to be a town under the water. It was often seen by people, from the Castle on a clear Summer's day. It was also seen from Kilrush. One Sunday when the people were bathing in Carraig, they saw smoke in the water, and heard strange noises. One day a boat passing near the Island struck the houses. Some people go there yet to see the place.
