  1. The village Ballylongford had an unequalled experience on the night of the 21st and the morning of the 22nd of February 1921.
An ambush of Black and Tans took place in Well St. on the night of the wounded. Then the Tans burned the houses of Well St. and Main Street, with the result being that fourteen families were turned out on the streets. Quay St. and Bridge St. escaped undisturbed.
