  1. About three miles from my home there lived an old man with only one hand about six or seven years ago he died. Some short time after his death it happened that a local priest came home on holidays. This priest knew this old man very well as he lived only a short distance from the gate leading to the priest's home. One night the priest happened to be out late and when returning home to his astonishment he saw this old man standing near the gate leading to his home. The priest got such a start or fright that he could say or do nothing only passed on home. Some nights after (or the following night) I am not sure the priest was out late again but on this occasion he prepared himself for to talk to his unearthy visitor. He came on again and right at the same spot the old man was standing. The priest then spoke to him and asked him in the name
