    People who live near the sea heard stories of the mermaid when they were young.

    People who live near the sea heard stories of the mermaid when they were young. The mermaid was the stranger we expected to see out near the horizon the first day we went to Banna strand. She appears out beyond the Muckelagh rock. She never comes to the surface of the sea till she has information that someone is to be drowned. We forgot about the people who would be drowned because we were so excited to see the sea woman of Banna.
    The mermaid sits at the foot of the Muckelagh. She is never seen coming to that place but she probably swims. She has long golden hair which she combs. She is
