    An fear céadna - do Phea[i]dí Ceallacháin ‘s dá mhnaoí “Cit leandí” - a bhí a troid le na chéile lá. Bhí eagal ar “Cit” roim[h] Pheaidí, agus theith sí uaidh an lá so. Níor tháinig sí abhaile an oidhche sin, ná amáireach, ná a’monathar [?]; agus do bhris ar an bhfoig[h]ne ag Peaidí ar deire ‘s chuaidh sé á lorg. Nuair chualaidh “Micí” an Scéal, chum sé an rann beag so dhóibh:
    Do chuarduig sé an Ceapaig Cluain Searrach
    ‘S tuatha na Tíorach
    Tighthe an lisín, ‘s as san go dtí an Srón
    ‘S nuair tháinig sé abhaile cá mbeadh sí
    ach sínte
    ‘s í a lorg a tíghisig ar an gCarraig Fé Bhrón.
