  1. There are many forts in this district one in Shrone, one in Moulagow, one in Corran, one in Gortnageann, one in Gortacarrin, one in Drom, one in "lios na gCraobh" and one in Gortadarrig. Faire people or as the old people say "na Daoine marie" are supposed to dwell in them. The following is a story connected with the fort in shrone. About a century ago there lived in Shrone a man called Timmie Cremin. There was a fort a short from his swelling place. His land was not adjoining this fort. He owned a horse who used to go out of his own land and enter a neighbour's field or perhaps his haggard. One evening he chained his horse and put him in a high fenced field which he had been fencing for about a week for the purpose of keeping the horse therein every night. He arose at about three o'clock and said he should go to see how the horse was. When he
