  1. There were men living in three houses on Doyles land in Ballyraggan Co Carlow. They are said to have gone every year to Norway and brought back wood
    They made churns and barrels and chairs and tables.
    Every one of their wives had spinning wheels. They went about the fields looking for sheeps wool When they would come back they put it beside the fire on bags. Then they put oil on it and teased it. When it was fine they made stockings from it.
    One of their, names was Tom Doyle He was a saddler. He made the whips
