  1. We sow three acres of potatoes every year. Before they are sown the drills are opened and manure is put in then. Then it is covered. It is my father who prepare the ground before they are sown.
    We plough out all the potatoes. We sow all the potatoes in drills. Wooden ploughs were never used. The spades were all bought in shops
    Before the potatoes are sown, they are sliced. Then they are drawn to the field, and put in heaps.
    First the ground is ploughed and harrowed. Then the drills are opened with a double boarded plough. Some of the neighbours help each other sowing the potatoes.
    After they are well over the ground they are moulded and skuffled and wed Some people hire potato pickers. The
