  1. St Stephens day is counted a very unlucky day for beginning to plough on. It is said that the plough will run away or the horses will. Holy Thursday and Good Friday are also counted unlucky for ploughing. The potatoes or wheat or oats wont grow; they will remain small.
    Its counted unlucky to move into a new house on Sunday. It is lucky to move in on a Fridday.
    The seventh son or daughter was supposed to have certain healing powers. When they are young before they are nine days old some people say that a maggot should be put on the childs hands and a certain prayer to be said.
