(IV) I knew another man who was ploughing in his own field on May Day. The field was situated at the Back of his next door neighbours house and during the morning he went into the house to redden the pipe. The people of the house were making the churn at the time and they said You'll get no coal to redden your pipe in this house to-day.
The man did nothing only run to the fire -snatch a coat and make off out the door.
When he had his pipe reddened he threw what remained of the coal over the house and continued to work away. The people of the house were heart broken from turning the churn but if they were there since they couldn't make butter.
