  1. It is about ninty years since the famine. Before this the farmers lived on their produce but after that year they did not depend so much on their crops.
    My district was very thickly populated at that time but now there are only about one hundred people living in it. The people died along the roads with hunger. Some of them had green grass in their mouths.
    Along with the famine came a terrible disease called "Cholera" and thousands died in the workhouse.
