  1. Potatoes are grown in our farm every year. My father sets about three acres of them. These potatoes are set in ridges. A plough is used when ploughing the land. No one in my townland remembers seeing a wooden plough.
    All the spades are bought in the shop because the blacksmiths dont make them. Before my father sets his potatoes he puts out manure on the ridges and then cuts the potatoes and puts them on them Sometimes the people help one another. During the Summer months my father sprays and weeds the potatoes. He sprays them three times
