    Q. In marble walls as white as milk, lined with a skin as soft as silk, within a foundation crystal clear, a golden apple doth appear, no doors there are to this stronghold, yet things break in and steal the gold.
    A. An egg.
    Q. Formed long ago, yet made today, employed while others sleep, what few would like to throw away, nor any wish to keep.
    A. A bed.
    Q. Lives in Winter, dies in Summer and grows with its roots upwards?
    A. An Icicle.
    Q. As soft as silk, as white as milk, as bitter as gall, a thick wall, and a green coat cover me all.
    A. A walnut.
    Q. A child sees me with infant joy, and views me only as a toy, but youth and man own me with pride, and take as a faithful guide.
    A. A watch.
