    were able would get pistols, guns, picks, pitchforks and blunderbusses and would try to kill the landlord.
    There was a secret society called the "Terriers" and when the landlord would go to evict the people they would be called on and they would be armed and would fire on the landlord.
    Miss Carroll was another of the landlords who got her high estates from Cromwell. She got an awful lot of land and the people thought great of her on account of her Catholic name. After some years she sold her land to the tenants and divided it up and left the country.
    Lord Dunalley evicted the Gleesons of Gibbet Hill and his wife had friends below Nenagh and she sent for them. At that time there was no straight road from Nenagh to Ballinaclough and they were coming by Casey's cross when they were fired on. Richard Baley escaped and two of them were killed. There
