  1. There are fourteen tailors working at present in the town and they all work at home.
    Some of them stock the cloth but most of them just keep books of patterns, and order material as required, or you may buy your own cloth. Tweed and serge are used as required.
    The dressmaker will make shirts if required, with any material supplied them. Nearly all the women knit socks and stockings for their children, and machine knit socks can be bought in some shops, there are but two knitting machines in town.
