  1. In O'Meara's Hotel there was a brown bear tied to a post in the middle of the yard and he was always a great centre of attraction.
    They also had a monkey and he had everyone around Nenagh robbed and tormented. He used to copy everything that the people did. One day a traveller was shaving in his room and the window was open.
    He happened to look down into the yard and he saw the monkey watching him intently. He continued his shaving but when he was finished he drew the back of his razor across his neck as if he were cutting it. Then turning he
