  2. There was a man and a woman one time living in Corraneary and they had only one child a boy. It was the finest child in the parish but after a while it got sick and began to fade away. It used to be always crying and no matter how often the mother fed it it used to be always crying. It never rose out of its cradle but lay there all day crying. One day the father was going to the forge to get a boy iron laid, and when he was starting the child sat up in the cradle and said "When you go to the forge the blacksmith will say that there is 3 cracks in the iron and that it will be a hard job to lay it."
