- There is a large number of tailors in my district. There are about twelve tailors there. Those do a great deal of work and they do it in their own homes.They do not stock cloth except Mr. Starr, Mitchel St. Most of the women knit socks and stockings for their husbands and children, but there is no special person with the trade living locally.The tailor uses a great number of implements. He uses a scissors to cut the material: an inch tape to measure the person for whom he is making the suit; a large board to cut out the suit on. He uses a machine to sew(continues on next page)
