  1. Shops were common in olden times. Buying and selling was carried on after Mass.
    Money was not always given because goods were exchanged. Labour was given in exchange for goods.
    The markets were held in the towns. Pedlars and dealers went to peoples houses. They go around yet.
    The coins used long ago were the farthing, the four penny bit and the butchers (coin) penny.
