    Miss Hooligan wanted to taste it
    But finding it was of no use.
    She was at it for over an hour
    Sure she could get none of it loose.
    Till Murphy ran for the hatchet
    And O 'Mahoney ran in with the saw
    Sure that cake was enough, by the Powers
    To paralyse any man's jaws.

    Miss Hoolhan proud as a peacock
    Kept blinking and smiling away
    Then Mahoney spilt a whole bucket of tay
    Gilhooley, Murphy did cry 'do not eat it'
    Try a little bit more for my sake
    Then you shall know when you taste it
    That it was Miss Hooligan's Christmas cake.
