- I live in the Townland of Gortnacorrib, Parish of Kilmacrennan and Barony of Kilmacrennan. There are seven families living in my townland and there are twenty-one people living in it. There are four of the houses slated and the other three are thatched.
There is only one man over seventy and he does not know Irish. His name is Edward Graham, Gortnacorrib, Letterkenny.
The name of my townland means the field of the stream, and this is how it got its name. There is a stream running through the centre of a field in my townland. In former times houses were more numerous and at present there are five houses in ruins. Long ago people emigrated from my townland to America. Most of the land is hilly and there is some of it boggy.- Collector
