Neighbours help each other to plant the potatoes. The potatoes are moulded with a plought and harrowed and the are also sprayed during the summer months. Some people dig the potatoes with a spade, some with a plough and most of the people with a digger. Most of the peoples potatoes are put in pits and some in barns.
the local names of potatoes are:- Arran Pilots, Queens, King Edwards, Ninety Folds, Great Scots, Duke of Yorks, Up-to-dates, Suttans and Forty Folds. Great Scots grow best in this district.
