  1. There are many local beliefs about Weather Lore. When the clouds are black they say it is going to rain.
When the birds fly low they say it is a sign of rain.
When out walking and inspects fly around you very much it is going to rain.
If you see a lot of cows together they say it is going to rain.
When distant hills and mountains and islands are near it is a sign of rain.
When a cat sits with its back to the fire it is a sign of a storm.
When a storm is coming we know by the sea-gulls coming to the land.
When the dust and papers fly about the streets it is a sign of a storm coming.
When the butterfly flies about we are going to have good weather.
A rainbow in the morning is the sailor's warning, a rainbow in the night is the sailor's delight.
