  1. Local Song - Skerries

Skerries, Skerries, is the finest place I know

Skerries, Skerries, is the finest place I know
Skerries Skerries o.d.o d. do do
It's a nice wee place to come to and the seashore is divine
If ever you come to Skerries
Call up and see me some time.
A man wrote this verse who came as a visitor last summer in the year 1937 to Skerries. He was so charmed with the beauty of the town and the strand he wrote this song.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
