    Half doors are common in the country still. Wood and cow manure were used for the fire also bogdeal. Bogdeal is found in bogs. It is the remains of the forest trees which have not rotted away. The old methods employed for giving light were Dips and Rushlights.
    Slate houses and castles were very rare. They were only occupied by the gentry or very wealthy people. The settle bed in some places was called "the hag".
