Holy wells were visited for obtaining certain cures.
Water lodged in cavity of a rock was used to cure warts. To rub a black snail to a wart, and then leave him in a bush, when the snail dies the wart disappears, Another cure was to put a stone in a bag for every wart, and leave it where another will find it. That person will take the warts.
